About washing and cleaning MAJA jacket and other Canelana wool products: In many cases, shaking and airing in fresh air for a couple of hours can be enough, wool is bacteriostatic and dirt usually does not penetrate the wool fibres, but settles on the outside. If you want to wash, we recommend machine washing wool programme 30 degrees and wool detergent. Machine programmes are often more gentle than hand washing as the temperature is precisely regulated. Machine washing also rinses out the rinse water with residual soap and dirt, and spinning allows the woollen fabric to dry faster. Wet woollen fabric can provide good conditions for bacterial growth through the residual water, even though wool is bacteriostatic.
